Riding School Volunteer Walk Leaders, etc

Posted on November 19, 2014 by Farm Staff

We wish to establish a riding school at the ‘city farm’ that we run, but to make it work we need volunteers who are experienced with horses to help as walk leaders, etc to work alongside the main Instructor.

The project’s aim is to get children and young people involved in riding and care of horses, thereby increasing their self-esteem and helping them to develop as individuals using the medium of horses.

You have to love/know about horses but more importantly about people/children and helping complete beginners. confidence with loading and driving horse trailers an advantage. The person must be able to work with people and organisations from all different backgrounds and be able to make the most of sparse resources.

Contact Imran 01452 308127 for more information or queries or email  sam@thefriendshipcafe.com .

The post can be for one morning or afternoon a week but we need 100% reliability. The post is unpaid but you can get use of the arena in return and support from a BHSI if you are working towards professional equine exams in return.

An enhanced criminal record check will be necessary.

The farm is run by the Friendship Cafe (a registered charity) as a non-profit making community project. If you feel you can help out in any way, by donating some of your skills, goods or money, please get in touch. The farm relies on donations towards animal feed, vet fees, insurances, tools, transport and the many other costs involved in keeping the farm open.
